Endometriosis Clinical Trial

Endometriosis is a painful condition occurring in approximately 10% of women, which is usually diagnosed and treated at laparoscopy. However, many patients experience recurrence of symptoms after treatment, suggesting that some lesions may be overlooked during laparoscopy or that microscopic disease may be present. Clinical trials investigating use of endomicroscopy for the detection of endometriosis during laparoscopic surgery are underway at the Royal Women’s Hospital (Melbourne, Australia).
