Presently, Optiscan is pursuing several different embodiments of miniaturized confocal microscopy devices.

Flexible

Flexible endomicroscopes developed in partnership with Pentax Corporation, for use in gastrointestinal tract examinations such as surveillance for neoplastic change, or diagnosis of conditions difficult to confirm by endoscopic examination and random biopsy technique, such as microscopic colitis or non-erosive reflux disease. The first product, ISC-1000, has received the CE mark and FDA clearance for sale in Europe and USA and achieved high profile in academic literature. Pentax announced formal sales release of the ISC-1000 flexible endomicroscopy system in March 2006.

Rigid

Handheld devices for microscopic examination of tissue during open or minimally invasive surgery. Presently prototypes are being used for applications investigation (Clinical Applications and Trials section) and Optiscan is actively seeking partnerships to co-develop and commercialise.

Pre-Clinical Research

The Optiscan FIVE 1 pre-clinical endo-microscope provides Optiscan's easy to use endo-microscope technology in an instrument purposed designed for in vivo imaging of animal tissues. Click here to learn more about the Optiscan FIVE 1
