Optiscan has been featured in a special report highlighting progress in its first in-human breast cancer imaging study at The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH), with the company reaching the halfway point of patient recruitment after imaging 25 of the targeted 50 patients.

The article notes that the study is evaluating Optiscan's InVue precision surgery imaging device and InForm digital pathology imaging device in breast cancer patients undergoing lumpectomy procedures. Early clinical data from 18 analysed cases has demonstrated the ability of the company’s technology to provide real-time imaging information during surgery, with imaging results matching definitive histopathology findings and no adverse events reported.

The report highlights that data generated from the study will support planned US FDA submissions for both devices in the second half of CY2026, while also contributing to the development of Optiscan’s artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities. The study has been expanded to a second site at Frances Perry House to support recruitment.

CEO and Managing Director Dr. Camile Farah said: “Our entire team is excited to see Optiscan’s InVue and InForm devices operating in a live clinical setting and clearly demonstrating the potential they have to improve breast cancer surgery.”
